Who is this best for?
- Scalp skin type: normal-dry. Flaky and/or itchy scalp.
- Hair Porosity: low, medium, high
- Hair Texture: fine hair, medium-thick, frizzy, medium-coarse hair. ( and not just for curls 😉 )
What is this used for and what is in it?
- This is a gentle sulfate-free cleansing shampoo for the scalp that will gently exfoliate mild flakes from a dry, irritated and itchy scalp. A great treat for a scalp that needs resetting!
- With perlite — tiny exfoliating beads derived from volcanic minerals which helps scrub and exfoliate the scalp
- Apple cider vinegar helps to break-down build-up, clarify the hair and enhance shine due to its acidic nature.
When/Where should this be used in my routine?
- This is best used as part of the 3 step Curlsmith Detox Kit. It is the second step, after using the Super Slip Pre-Biotic Primer. The is applied overtop of that treatment, which acts as a protective scalp balancing layer.
- To be used on wet hair, add water as you scrub to fully emulsify the product throughout every inch of your scalp.
Why do I (Mell) love it?
- This shampoo is a really nice treatment for the scalp, mine always feels refreshed after using it, and I specifically reach for it when my scalp is feeling tight, dry, cracking and flaky.
- In the winter-time this is especially a good friend of mine, but I do always prefer to use it with the rest of the Curlsmith Detox Kit. Also, while I do love it for my scalp, sometimes my hair will have more stubborn buildup. Not all buildup is built the same and neither are clarifying shampoos.
- This one in my experience is a gentle cleansing for the scalp.
Bonus: it is 100% Cruelty-Free & Vegan, Sustainably Made and Packaged!
Extra Bonus: A sweet scent that is fresh, citrusy and floral
HOW-TO (tips from a pro):
- For best results, use the full Curlsmith Detox Kit system. This shampoo is made to be step 2 and applied directly over top of the Curlsmith Super Slip Pre-Biotic Primer but can be used solely as an exfoliating cleanser. Massage into the scalp for 1-3 minutes before rinsing.
- For an even better scalp massage and exfoliation, use a shampoo brush. Rinse thoroughly and follow with conditioner.
